We’re surviving the summer heat — and hoping to have air conditioning soon! Meanwhile, here’s the latest newsletter with some tips on how to keep your cool on those 90+-degree days, by Candace Worrick, and all the news that’s fit to print — or that fits in print 🙂

Faith in Recovery has been canceled for the month. Marlys is recovering from a broken arm, and won’t be able to drive for some time.

The storm sewer construction is making access to JAK’s a little more difficult. Our back driveway to 8th Avenue is blocked; only the front entrance is available. Our neighbors are using the front drive too, so be carefull of the extra traffic.

Jellystone Park Benefit for JAK’s Place

July 24, 2011 • JAK's Place

Saturday, August 6th KIDS CARNIVAL
Located at Jellystone Park, 3677 May Rd (Cty SB), Sturgeon Bay

Jim & Jill Kavicky [Owners] would greatly appreciate Youth & other Volunteers to help with games. If you could volunteer for an hour or two, please call Jim or Jill Kavicky at 743-9001.

To start the day, Yogi will be holding a charity walk for JAK’s Place, a local support center that improves the quality of life for individuals with mental disorders and their families.

Later, join the fun and enjoy a variety of carnival games and activities for the children! Enter our raffles for free camping and other great gifts from local businesses. Proceeds go to JAK’s Place in Sturgeon Bay and local food pantries.

Please bring non-perishable canned food items (e.g., chicken or beef broth, soup, Spaghetti-O’s or fruit) to donate to the charity food pantry at check-in, and receive one complimentary raffle ticket per family. There will also be a DJ dance on Saturday night.

Thank you, Jim & Jill Kavicky!

Your sometimes-alert webmistress thought that it was about time for a little redecoration. One gets tired of the same old colors after a while. 🙂
