NAMI - JAK’s Place Newsletter

Filed under: News — The Editor @ 11:47 pm

This month’s JAK’s newsletter is included in the NAMI Doorways. It’s a big one, around 1.63MB, but that can’t be helped; the JAK’s newsletter is the biggest part of it because of the photos of the kitchen project. The calendar is on the hefty side too. Apologies to the dial-up folks.

Closing for kitchen work

Filed under: News — The Editor @ 4:32 pm

JAK’s Place will be closed January 20-22 so that the kitchen can be rebuilt. There is going to be a lot of ripping and banging and raising of dust, but when the dust has cleared we will have new cabinets, a good sink, and a dishwasher. Part of the floor will no longer be covered with unsanitary carpeting. Habitat for Humanity is providing most of the materials, and a group of expert volunteers will do the work.

We hope to be open again the following Monday, Jan. 24, but it depends on how much work needs to be done. Things are iffy in old houses. There will be no meal on the Tuesday before (Jan. 19) or the Tuesday after (Jan. 26).
