August Newsletter and Calendar

July 29, 2010 • JAK's Place

It’s all good news. Well, mostly. No bad news, anyway. šŸ™‚

Just to top it off, we got some donations just after the newsletter went to press.

June Newsletter and Calendar

May 27, 2010 • JAK's Place

June already! The big irises are surging into full bloom, new garden beds have sprung up overnight. Check our schedule, the drum circle has moved to Friday. We hope more people will be able to attend.

Dinner time is the same, except for Tuesday the 29th, when the annual CSP Picnic will be going on all day at Sunset Park. No Art Group that day either, but you can sketch at the picnic!

Our little patch of dwarf irises made a nice showing. Now it’s daffodil time.

Garden season is building up momentum. Transplanting and tilling have been going on, and we plan to build new beds. Seed planting has started. Dandelions are producing good salad greens now — you really should try some.

April newsletter and calendar

March 23, 2010 • JAK's Place

Spring has sprung, flowers and newsletters are popping up all over. One item that isn’t in the newsletter is that the NAMI library is going on line. By the time the next newsletter comes out, we should have our books all cataloged. Book loans and returns will be entered via computer, and you will be able to search the collection from home to see what is available.

We will be closed Monday April 5 and Friday April 30 (not on calendar).

Anywhat, here’s all the news that’s fit to print:

The United Way Day of Caring, usually held in April, will be in June this year. We’ll remind you šŸ˜‰

Don’t forget our upcoming Valmy Brat Fries! There will be a call for volunteers, so think about it now. Memorial Day weekend is the first. This is not only a big fund-raiser for JAK’s,Ā  it’sĀ  another way to make the community aware of our mision.
