Another full year’s end draws near
Our hearts are filled with Christmas cheer…

Enough of trite verse.

JAK’s Place is well into its tenth year of existence. There are changes ahead for NAMI Door County, more than usual, but JAK’s Place will continue to serve Door County with a friendly welcome for all.

We will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but will be open as usual on the day of New Year’s Eve. JAK’s Place will also be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 22, because of the CSP Holiday Lunch. That should be a merry occasion, with song and food and door prizes galore. 11am to 2pm at Hope UCC, 141 South 12th Ave Sturgeon Bay.

The Road-eater

The sidewalk is slowly creeping up Egg Harbor Road. All sorts of giant metal monsters have been prowling and growling. This machine chews up pavement and spits it into a truck.

October Newsletter

September 28, 2015 • JAK's Place

The first full week of October — this year, the 4th to the 10th — is Mental Illness Awareness Week, and we’re ready to celebrate it all month! NAMI Door County and JAK’s Place are participating in a number of events. The YMCA Health Fair, on Tuesday, October 20, is one. It runs from 8:30am to 12:30pm, so there’s no conflict with JAK’s Place’ schedule. Call 920.743.9999 to get a free ride.

We hope that all our members and friends will find some way to add their voice to the “We are stigma free” chorus. On various social media, you can use the hashtag #IAmStigmaFree to join others who are taking the Stigma Free Pledge.

Don’t forget that our Quilt Raffle is happening later this year, at the annual Nami DC Dinner Meeting in November. Tickets will be on sale until then.
